In 1967 Floyd Turner was convicted of flag desecration despite the testimony of  anarchist Stan Iverson who willingly confessed that he had incinerated the flag

Judge Manolides was unpersuaded, declaring that

"Anarchists cannot tell right from wrong & cannot be trusted."
