THEY DON'T PUT LUDLOW ON THE COLORADO MAP

Tourists ride the Rio Grande
narrow gauge
from Durango to Silverton
and hear about a billion dollars
worth of ore
mined before the price of silver fell,
but they don't put Ludlow
on the Colorado map.
No one hears about
the Paint Creek Strike
and Rockefeller's machine guns
spraying the hills,
no official memory of children
roasted in burning tents.
The UMW put a monument there,
still you won't find Ludlow
on the Colorado map.
