A palmless glove made of impact sensitive plastic. Upon impact, the plastic becomes rigid enough to withstand a hydraulic press.
The plastic is only ¼-inch thick and, under normal wear, supple as leather. It can be pressed, pinched, and flexed. It is only on forceful contact that the karatand becomes rigid.
The karatand is of course very useful in hand-to-hand combat and has the advantage of being totally unobtrusive.
