Fuller Dome, Manhattan

Although it is technically feasible to dome the entire City of New York, cost factors restricted the Fuller Dome project to Manhattan only.

The dome succeeded in recovering some of Manhattan's waning popularity and won back more inhabitants than the borough lost during the suburbia rush of the late 1900s.

Internal combustion engines are illegal under the dome. The processing of CO(2) generated by human respiration is all the ventilation system can accommodate. Even without exhaust fumes, the conditioners overload on particularly warm days, and a gray drizzle often precipitates under the dome.
